Baby did it again! Right after feeding the spit-up never seems to be far behind. No problem right? Just use a burp cloth. But thanks to gravity, spit-up always seems to find its way past the cloth and onto clothes, carpet and furniture.
Williamboy Products sent us the new BurpCatcher invented by mother of three Margaret Pressler. It's a deluxe burp cloth, but with a major difference. It features a built-in pocket designed to catch spit-up and prevent messes before they happen. The cloth is made of thick fleece which is extremely soft and comfortable. The BurpCatcher comes in pink, blue or mint green and there's also a flannel version available.
The pocket is deep enough so that it opens on its own when thrown over the shoulder. Our test mom was concerned at first the pocket wouldn't open on its own or stay open, but that was before she gave it a try. We also found the Burp Catcher could be used just as easily over your arm as well as your shoulder, so you can use it the way you're most comfortable with.
The entire cloth is machine washable and you will want to throw it in the washer after any major spit-up session. The material is very absorbent which is great for preventing any stray drips from getting away. But you will want to wash it soon after to prevent any bacterial build up or odors, just as you would with any traditional burp cloth. To make sure you always have one at the ready it might be a good idea to have two or three on hand. Also be sure to View This Video all about the BurpCatcher.
The BurpCatcher was designed to have no velcro or other abrasive parts which are commonly found on other products that may scratch baby. We love the simplicity of the BurpCatcher and it's soft enough that you may even be tempted to use it as your own pillow.
The product also comes in one of the nicer packaging designs we've seen. The premium fleece BurpCatcher we tested comes rolled inside a lace net with a decorative bow and tag at the top. It definitely makes for an attractive gift that's ready to give right out of the box.
The BurpCatcher is available for under $10 and can be purchased on-line or in many retails stores. Visit BurpCatcher.com for more information.
